The Government of Ghana will make funds available for the compulsory fumigation and disinfection of public and private schools, the provision of Water, Sanitation, and washing facilities ahead of the June 15 schools reopening, Prof. Kwasi Opoku Amankwa has said.
According to Prof. Kwasi Opoku Amankwa, the Akufo-Addo government has agreed to make funds for all other necessary things that need to contribute towards the reopening of school on June 15.
He admitted that schools disinfection is one of the urgent things that the government needs to do, he added that the government is ready to fund that and so will it also fund the WASH Facilities.
The President in his 10th televised nation’s address announced for schools to be reopened to only final year students in the country for them to complete the academic year and prepare for their exit exams.
The resumption of academic works effectively begins on June 15, the directive states that final year Senior High Schools (SHS) students are to report on Monday, June 22, 2020, whereas their counterparts in Junior High Schools (JHS) go back to school on Monday, June 29, 2020.
