The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) under the auspices of the Ministry of Education has released 96 recommended textbooks for kindergarten to basic Schools.
This brings the total of approved textbooks by NaCCA to 283, as the Council had earlier released 187 recommended textbooks, motivating publishers to go-ahead to publish in large quantities for sale.
According to NaCCA, the 283 textbooks have gone through a thorough series of reviews between them (NaCCA) and the book authors to ensure they are up to expectations of the newly introduced KG to the Basic 6 curriculum and also meet the quality standard.
The Executive Director of NaCCA, Dr Prince Armah, said the approval of the 283 textbooks is a testimony of a great and thorough work done by NaCCA as well as the Authors.
He added that there are few subject areas the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment is still pending from the Publishers and assuring teachers, students and parents that his Management will do their best to enhance teaching and learning.
Dr. Prince Armah further disclosed that more books are under review and will be announced to the general public when considered in the coming weeks.
“NaCCA appreciates comments and feedback from school managers, teachers, parents, and the general public on the approved Textbooks. This will help textbook writers and publishers improve on the quality of their textbooks,” he said in a statement said. Download 96 textbooks here
