The Ghana National Service Scheme took the orientation train to the UEW-Kumasi campus today, 25th February 2020. The set-out targets today were to educate the final year students of UEW-K on the operations of the Scheme, the technicalities of registration and to listen to the questions of the students on their misconceptions about national service.
The Deputy Executive Director, Madam Gifty Oware-Aboagye took the students through the operations of the Scheme. She spoke aboutÂ the requirements and provisions of the ACT of NSS for every graduate that has attained the age 18, exemptions, the many intricacies, and benefits of undergoing service and the punishments that come with not doing service at all. Madam Gifty spoke about the many innovative ideas implemented to make easier the registration processes of prospective service personnel.
The MIS Director in the person of Mr. Robert Nii Laryea Adjei Kuma took the final year students through the technical processes of registration. This session ended with the question and answer forum which provided students the opportunity to engage the NSS team on their fears and worries.
Present at the program was a representative of the Administration, Mr. Armstrong Esaah (Corporate Affairs Director of NSS), Mr. Alex Opoku Mensah (Ashanti Regional Director, NSS) and a host of the district and municipal officers of NSS.
