The Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) said it has observed publications of some media claiming that the Registration Exercise has been temporarily suspended. The Commission has corrected that it has NOT suspended the Registration Excercise but rather has postponed it amid the widespread of coronavirus hitting the country hard.
The Electoral Commission added that all activities relating to the registration exercise are still ongoing at the various districts and offices of the Commission for the smooth running of the exercise when it commences.
According to the Commission, a new date for the Registration Exercise will be communicated in due course as soon as the pandemic is brought under control.
The Commission says it assures the general public particularly the electorates that it is working hand in hand with the Ghana Health Service and Ministry of Health for best practices to slow the spread of COVID-19Â Pandemic in all in its activities throughout the country
It added that the general public are also assured that it will on December 7, 2020,Â delivery of free, fair and transparent elections
