The Minister for Health and Member of Parliament for Dormaa Central, Hon Kwaku Agyemang Manu has finally confessed that he had tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Kwaku Agyemang Manu’s confession follows the announcement of his health status by President Akufo-Addo in his 11th televised nation’s address indicating that the Health Minister has contracted the deadly novel coronavirus which has currently claimed 54 lives.
The Member of Parliament for the Dormaa Central in a Facebook post sighted by Georgeweb.org admitted that it’s true he has tested positive for the virus as the President said but by God’s grace he is responding to treatment.
“I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the President and all Ghanaians for your good wishes and prayers. By the grace of God, I’m responding to treatment”, Kwaku Agyemang Manu said.
Meanwhile, the Health Minister when asked earlier about his health status on coronavirus said he is fine, adding that reports indicating that he has tested positive for COVID-19 are false.
President Akufo-Addo in his televised address wished the Minister for Health and Member of Parliament for Dormaa Central, Hon. Kwaku Agyeman Manu a speedy recovery as he is responding to treatment.
“Let us also wish our hardworking Minister for Health, Hon. Kwaku Agyeman Manu, MP for Dormaa Central, a speedy recovery from the virus, which he contracted in the line of duty, and is in a stable condition,” Akufo-Addo said in his 11th televised address to the nation.
As of now, Ghana’s COVID-19 case count stands at 11,422 with 4,156 recoveries and 54 deaths, the Ghana Health Service reported on Sunday, June 14, 2020.
