The Vice-President of the Republic, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia on Sunday May 17, 2020 accompanied the North East Regional Minister, Mr Solomon Boar paid a surprise visit to his then times primary school teacher, Mr Duuti who is now age 75.
75 year old Mr Duuti taught Mahamudu Bawumia, who is now the Vice-President of Ghana at Sakasaka primary school in Tamale. Bawumia’s unexpected visit to his teacher is due to the positive influence Mr Duuti has impacted on his life that has brought him this far.
Mahamudu Bawumia gifted the primary school teacher a brand new tractor to assist him expand his farming business.
Report says Mr Duuti was in awe making him shed some tears of joy as his family and community celebrated the good news.
The 75 year old teacher after recieving the gift expressed gratitude and beseeched for Jehovah to continue to bless the Vice-President and accord him more wisdom to serve the Republic.
Mr Duuti recall regretful memories of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia during his school days as a pupil in Tamale at the Sakasaka Primary School.
“Bawumia was brilliant and inquisitive. He was always asking questions and I am not surprised about how high he has risen in life. I am so proud i taught him,” he said.
The teacher also shared a memorable childhood picture of Dr Bawumia dressed in full regalia as a lawyer during a speech and prize giving day of the Sakasaka Primary School.
He disclosed further that the Vice-president acted as a lawyer in a play as part of activities of the speech and prize giving day.
According to him, Mahamudu Bawumia said he wanted to be a a lawyer like his father.
Unfortunately, life circumstances made him read banking and economics after his secondary education at the Tamale Secondary School.
