The GNFS has in a memo cautioned the general public to beware of a recruitment scam purporting on social media.
of the Command of the Ghana National, Fire Service said its attention has been drawn to the conduct of one Charles Gyagri who uses various social media platforms to demand a sum of 5, 000.00 Ghana Cedis from unsuspecting members of the public under the guise of a Fire Officer with the promise of recruiting them into the Ghana National Fire Service.
Another individual, by name Nueteh Attah AKA Avenu Soldier with telephone number 0245403088 is also suspected to be engaged in the same practice.
The Ghana National Fire Service wishes toÂ state categorically that;
The taboveove-mentioned individual is not a member of the Ghana National Fire Service.
The Ghana National Fire Service has not contracted any individual or groups of individuals to conduct recruitment on its behalf.
The Ghana National Fire Service would always publish all recruitment notices in newspapers where all modalities are clearly spelled out for the information of the general public.
The Ghana National Fire Service wishes to further state that, it is a crime under the laws of the country to receive or give any amount of money to any individual or groups of individuals with the intention of recruiting or being recruited into the Service.
Consequently, any person who is found through our investigations to be using any means other than what is officially prescribed in our recruitment notices does not only do that at their own risk but will also face the law squarely if caught.
